Emma has published poems, monologues and non-fiction short stories in publications such The Borderless Anthology by BLA-Brunel University Press; Perfect Pitch: Football Anthologies by Hodder Headline.
She is working on her second novel.

An award-winning journalist and trailblazer, Emma is Britain's first Black woman sports writer for a national newspaper.
Emma worked as a senior Staff Features writer for The Observer for a number of years and has also been a freelance contributor to The Times, The Guardian, Independent on Sunday, Daily Mirror and Red magazine. She's also been a guest radio contributor to BBC Radio 4 and 5 Live. Read more about her ground-breaking work in this interview.

Emma gained her MA in Creative Writing at Brunel University, London under Bernadine Evaristo and Benjamin Zephaniah.
She holds a CELTA from Cambridge University and is passionate about the power of words to transform.
Her teaching style is defined by imaginative, kinaesthetic approaches and the belief that everyone has a story to tell.

Inspiration
Emma is constantly evolving as a writer and believes sthat writers need to work in community.
She has studied courses at City Lit, Writers Greenhouse in Oxford and Curtis Brown,.
When she isn't reading, writing... or thinking about writing, Emma can be found pottering in her garden in West London. She also enjoys walking in nature, travel and spending time with her family.
